It's been over a year

Last night I couldn't go to sleep due to the time change. I starting surfing the web and I thought, wow it's been a long time since I have looked at my blog. When I logged on I was surprised to see that it had been over a year, crazy! So I thought I should start fresh and update it.

The Daddy:
Celebrated his first 29th birthday in December. Is working as a buyer for Monsanto and loves his job. He actually enjoys his job and doesn't dread going to work each Monday morning. He was called to be elders quorum president about 7 months ago.  It keeps him busy, but I think it is good for him. He plays basketball 3 times a week and has started to work on a so-called motorcycle I have yet to see. He loves playing with Mason and takes him to the free movies on Saturday.



The Mommy:
I am still adjusting to life with two kids. I try to stay active with story time, spin classes, play groups and the occasional sewing project.  Still getting used to small town living but I absolutely love our house and the beautiful backyard for Mason. I am over the 8-9 year old activity day group for the church and love my calling and the girls I work with. I have joined the rank of motherhood and now drive a minivan around our small town.  I am in love with the sliding doors and never having to hoist Mason into his seat.



The Troublemaker:
Mason is now 2 1/2 years old. Loves his shows, playing with truck and tools, and wrestling with his daddy.  He talks all the time and never stops moving. Mason loves his little sister and can't wait to wake her up in the morning. He is a handful but the sweetest little boy I know.



The Princess:
Emma Kate was born October 3 weighing in at a whopping 9lbs 2oz and stretching 21in long. (Natural Delivery, don't ask me why) She is my textbook baby, sleeps, eats, plays, poops. She smiles and laughs all the time. She is now 5 months and loves her jumper and watching Mason. She thinks he is the funniest person alive.  We love our new addition to the family.

Let's hope I can continue writing and sharing our special memories.

Sorry, I don't have a 6 months shirt but, I have something better, beautiful pictures done by my friend Amanda. We had so much fun putting on a photo shoot in my backroom but after 2 hours of posing Mason wasn't having any more of it.

Mason is moving, kicking, jumping etc. all day long, he never stops. He's always happy and enjoys it when people talk to him. He goes to sleep at 7pm and wakes up anywhere from 6:30-8:00am. Mason has to have his paci and yellow silky blanket to fall asleep and usually ends up wrapping the blanket around his head. He started cutting teeth and it has been a long and painful process for both baby and mommy. He loves books and story time at the library, especially move and groove week. He has started to vocalize a little more but still no mama and dada. At 6 months exactly the little guy started to sit up on his own, it was such a proud moment for me and a big realization that he is getting big. He loves stroller rides and being outside (maybe it was all the walking when pregnant). Needless to say, I have grown to really love this little boy and am excited to see all the new tricks he is learning to do each day.

First time to Logan, UT. One weekend we decided it would be fun to go to Logan for the day see the temple and explore. We were able to meet up with Andy's friend Regan and have dinner. I just love the Logan temple it is so pretty.

Valentines Day was a lot of fun this year I made a heart shaped meatloaf and homemade chocolate covered strawberries. I also made Mason a v-day shirt for the occasion, he is definitely a little heart breaker. And Andy bought me the most beautiful bouquet of flowers and they lasted forever I was so excited!
Debbie came up from Arizona to see us but mostly little Mason and while she was here we put her to work. Above are the before and after pictures of part of our living room. And after all the painting we played at Lava Hot Springs indoor pool. It was a lot of fun to see Mason in a HUGE bathtub for the first time. It took him a little while to feel comfortable but once we gave him is paci and put him in the floaty he relaxed and had tons of fun. He even went under the water! We had lots of fun with Grandma Sievers and were excited to have some family come and visit us.

5 months

At 5 months Mason really started getting around at the end of the month he started his army crawl and even now uses it as his favorite way of transportation. This month the little guy started exclusively bottle feeding and eating solid food 2-3 times a day. He loves pretty much everything except bananas. Every time I try feeding them to him his gags and spits them out it is pretty funny.

4 months

Four months was a really fun month because Mason came out of his colic stage. He didn't cry all the time and would actually let people hold him. At the end of the month Mason started to take a bottle a little more and I started weaning him off. He has always been a lot happier on formula. He really took off moving around the house at this age by rolling where ever he needed to go. It made him a lot happier because he was able to be more independent. And he started eating solids this month because he was losing weight because he burns so many calories. I have never seen a baby like Mason just move all the time it is crazy, he never stops.

The doctor says he is the most advanced baby shes seen and just loves when we come into the office (we've been there a few times).

Mason's 1st Christmas

This last Christmas was so much fun we were able to go to California for Mason's first Christmas. Mason was absolutely spoiled, he had so many presents under the Christmas tree Andy and I sat there for probably an hour opening them all. I was really surprised how excited Mason was to rip the paper off his gifts. The best part was when he opened a box of clothes he squealed in delight it was so fun. The pictures here are of early Christmas in our apartment before Andy left for his job and before we went to California.

3 months and the catch up!

At this stage in life for Mason he was still really fussy didn't like people to hold him and would cry a lot. He loved his uncle Jake he is like a baby whisperer. Mason can roll over one way.

Sorry it has been so long since my last post but we have been busy. In January we moved to Soda Springs, Idaho where Andy took a job as a buyer for a company called Monsanto. He is loving his job and I love having him home by 5 every night and having him at church with me. The benefits and perks of this job are great (including 30 free massages a year), but living 45 minutes away from the boonies is tough. The ladies at the grocery store know me pretty well because that is the only shopping around here. For Mason he is doing great getting bigger and stronger then ever.
